Meet Our Coaches

Coach Mentors

We have a wide range of coaches who offer high level and specialist skills across all relevant subjects. Our coaches include an Occupational Psychologist, an NLP practitioner and an Employment Lawyer.  All Blue Water coaches possess managerial experience at least at the level of the participants for any particular programme, sector specific experience where this is a necessary requirement, and strong communication skills. Quality and consistency is assured by robust design of programmes and a vigorous internal coaching and monitoring initiative.

Gordon Roscoe

Founder / Senior Partner

Gordon is a managing director and has a broad experience as an executive coach, vocational assessor and learning and development consultant. For 30 years, he has successfully operated in a range of commercial activities and was the founder of The Blue Water Partnership in 2000. Since that time he has developed the brand, style and reputation of the company with exclusive focus on management and leadership for performance.

Gloria Deacon

Senior Partner

Gloria is the Learning and Development Director for The Blue Water Partnership and has extensive experience of management within commerce including the Britannia Security Group plc, Chrysler Jeep and Mercedes. She holds an HND in Business Management, is an NLP Master Practitioner and a Life Coach. Since joining the partnership in 2001, Gloria has blended her senior management responsibility with selective consultancy and L&D delivery both within the UK and on the continent.

Dr Nick Osborn

Coach / Mentor

For the last 30 years Nick Osborn has served as a senior manager in both the public service and in commerce. In the last decade, he has consecutively held posts as a senior partner, operations director and managing director in successful businesses. He is a proven and experienced executive coach, facilitator, presenter and development consultant who holds a complementary portfolio of academic and vocational qualifications. Nick is currently the lead coach and facilitator on the Honda Master Programme.

David Jago

Coach / Mentor

David is Blue Water’s senior statesman and business performance expert. He has operated nationally and internationally for 40 years within commerce and has a substantial understanding of product, process, marketing and performance measures. He has successfully operated at senior management level in plc’s, franchises and consultancy. He is a hugely experienced facilitator and coach with an intimate understanding of the motor trade, retail, business development and ‘trading for profit’.

Ruth Morris

Coach / Mentor

Ruth is a highly qualified and experienced trainer and coach holding qualifications as an NLP Master Practitioner, Personal Performance Coach, Psychometric Testing (BPS/OPP, Level A) and the CIPD Certificate in Training Practice. She has worked extensively within commerce and the public services in the UK, Europe, the Middle East and China. Ruth is a highly energetic and engaging coach and facilitator having provided performance and development consultancy with a broad range of customers.

Eric Hartley

Coach / Mentor

Eric is an experienced leadership coach who specialises in performance management, marketing strategies, effective communication and creative management. He holds two Masters degrees and, in addition to coaching, continues to operate as a valued consultant in organisational and marketing development. He has worked extensively in the commercial sector both nationally and internationally, particularly with the automotive trade in the UK and the banking industry in Europe. His style is innovative and engaging with an extensive background in delivering management and leadership training to individuals and groups, providing focus on creativity, performance and profit.

Tom Anderson

Coach / Mentor

Tom is a senior associate with The Blue Water Partnership and has extensive managerial experience within commerce. He is a highly experienced trainer, coach and business adviser who has undertaken substantial consultancy in marketing, performance and leadership. He has also provided ecological and environmental surveys and consultancy with the public service including the Energy Saving Trust, the National Health Service and Business Gateway. He specialises in delivering performance-based results, working directly with clients in the UK, Europe and the Middle East.

Sue Rawden

Coach / Mentor

Sue is a specialist facilitator and coach who specialises in interpersonal skills, assertive communication, leadership and management. Working with UK and international commerce and public services, she holds diplomas in training, business excellence, personal coaching and memberships of the Institute of Training and Occupational Learning and the Mentoring Foundation. Sue has designed and delivered highly successful executive management programmes including courses endorsed and accredited by the Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM) the City & Guilds and the National Open College Network (NOCN).

Erica Harley

Erica is a skilful learning and development professional and motivator who is able to get the best out of teams and individuals. She has extensive experience in business learning and development and uses it to design, develop and deliver a variety of training and communications solutions for both public and private sector businesses. Erica is a skilled facilitator who is responsive to situations and people and able to grasp the real group dynamics of the teams she works with.

Günter Isbrandt

Coach / Mentor

Günter is an experienced trainer and NLP coach with a broad experience in leadership, performance, the effective implementation of change and marketing. He is a graduate with experience of senior management within commerce including publishing and manufacture. He is a member of the Association for Industrial Activities (Verona). Günter’s fluency in English, Italian and German provides the partnership with an essential training and coaching asset within Europe.

    Diana Morriss

    Coach / Mentor

    Diana is an experienced leadership coach and trainer comfortable working with multicultural groups and recently delivered management programmes to major financial institutions in Hong Kong, New York, Ireland, Istanbul, various locations in India and Luxembourg. Diana’s experience spans both the not-for-profit and private sectors including housing, healthcare, financial services, travel and local government. She is a fluent French and good conversational Spanish speaker and holds a BA (Hons) in French and Spanish and an MBA from the Open University Business School as well as a PGCE from Greenwich University.

    Martin Fenton

    Coach / Mentor

    Martin has over 30 years experience of operating within the sales and marketing environment and, for the last 18 years, has provided high quality training and coaching predominantly for commerce, but with some public service clients. With an INLPTA diploma in coaching, he has worked in the UK, Europe and the Middle East with multi-national audiences. His customers have included: Lloyds Bank, Barclays, Rolls Royce, United Utilities, Honda, Sterling Insurance and the NHS. Martin specialised in professional leadership development and he is equally comfortable in both the intimate coaching environment and facilitating to larger audiences.

      Julie is a recognised and respected expert in her field. She draws on 20 years’ hands-on leadership and management experience to deliver a practical and effective coaching approach. She holds a Master’s degree in training and development and diplomas in both management and stress management. Julie specialises in developing leaders to consistently bring out the best in themselves and their teams, using emotional intelligence to improve their self-awareness, personal impact and relationships with the people they rely on for their success. Her executive coaching style is committed to making tangible improvements to performance, productivity and profit and comfortably bridges the gap between theory and effective practice.

      Deborah Vitai

      Coach / Mentor

      Deborah has over twenty years’ experience as a facilitator, designer of learning and development and coach. She relishes the opportunities this work provides – helping individuals and small groups to learn and develop is a real passion and she shares this enthusiasm with clients at all levels, from graduate entry to executive roles. Building on her own training as a coach, Deborah is currently participating in a course on Positive Psychology.

      Nigel Banister

      Coach / Mentor

      Nigel is a highly qualified executive coach and facilitator, a director of a successful consultancy and a key associate for Blue Water. He is a Master’s graduate and holds qualification in both professional evaluation and psychological assessment. He has extensive experience within commerce both with human resource management and in operational performance. Whilst operating with VW he provided the lead in design and implementation of the Field Force Development Programme and the highly successful, and CMI accredited, Group Management Development Programme. Nigel is dynamic and highly creative in his approach to learning and development and has a well-earned reputation for ‘development delivery’ within the public, commercial and third sector.

        Angela Goldberg

        Coach / Mentor

        Originally a careers counsellor, Angela’s own career reflects a long-held passion for supporting people to reach their full potential. Combining her assessment and coaching expertise, Angela has developed a specialism in the use of psychometric profiling in competency-based development, recruitment, training, management and leadership agility, career transitioning, coaching, team-building, and performance management including 360°’s. She is a qualified ILM coach, mentor and trainer, and holds Certificates of Competence in Occupational Testing (Levels A and B). She has recently undertaken the BPS’s re-affirmation process, and is on the Register of Qualifications in Test Use. She is also is an accredited assessor by SHL business psychologists, and is licensed to use many different psychometric tools including WAVE, Swift Aptitude, OPQ 32, Firo-B, Hogan Development Systems, Myers Briggs Type Indicator, Strengthscope, TLQ, NEO P-IR, the Talent Q Suite, the Leadership Judgement Indicator and the Decision-making & Self-regulation Assessor (DASA).

        Aparna Shekar

        Coach / Mentor

        Aparna is a coach, assessor and a specialist facilitator in communication/presentation skills, leadership, team dynamics, creative thinking and problem solving. She has a MBA and 16 years experience in the fields of marketing, facilitation and consultancy. She is an Examiner for English exams from The University of Cambridge, on offer through the British Council in India. This is to test English proficiency levels in non native speakers of English. Aparna is a highly engaging facilitator and coach, training executives across management levels and industry segments in Fortune 500 companies. She is a member of the International Board of Certified Trainers, Europe and an Associate consultant in India with Blue Water.

        Support Services

        Operational support is provided by the team at our Head Office in Harrogate headed by Head of Support Services, Naomi Hall. Operational support is recognised to be a key element in the service we provide. Our team provide administrative support to clients, communication with participants, logistical and database support for coach-mentors and clients.

        Our Support Services Team is headed by Naomi Hall. Naomi joined The Blue Water Partnership in 2008 and leads the Support Services team at our Head Office in Harrogate. Naomi has a strong administration and customer service background gained with Co-operative Retail Group, NatWest Plc and Rawcliffe Associates Structural Engineers.
