This two and a half day professional development event will identify and develop delegate’s key responsibilities as a senior manager and establish their role as effective supervisors. It will involve a psychometric assessment to identify explicit and potential strengths; engaging and exploiting the results to develop a continuous improvement action plan. It covers essential ingredients of strategic management; change management; the resolution of conflict and effective meeting management – both as a chair and attendee. Critical to this event is the pursuit of clear and effective communication, particularly with regards to conflict resolution, performance and staff development.
Key Objectives
On the successful completion of the course, delegates will be able to:

review and define their role and responsibilities as a senior (executive) manager;

place into context management and leadership within the organisational culture and values;

describe and commence further development of the core competencies, of the effective senior manager;

This course provides the foundation of a Senior Management Development Programme (SMDP) will provide the basis for continued development in the skills, knowledge and awareness necessary for an effective senior supervisor. It will identify, explain and provide facilitative opportunity to improve effectiveness, efficiency and economy. It includes essential managerial and leadership considerations, whether dealing with a team, department, division or at organisational level.
