Accomplished Problem Solving

Have you ever considered why it is that some people are good at solving problems and others are not!  There is no magic formula to improve decision making and problem solving, but some very useful techniques and models, designed to take the 'guesswork' out of it. Very often ‘speed’ is not the essential ingredient and you need to be able to determine the difference between 'urgency' and 'importance' – they are clearly not the same!

This one day course reviews and facilitates your practical application of effective problem solving, from Ansoff’s simple model; to the collection and review of evidence; and using a simple option evaluation and determination technique through to implementation.  There is inevitably a cost for poor decision making; solutions that do not 'fit', or provide 'remedy' can often exacerbate problems and increase both risk and vulnerability.  This one-day course provides a concise, clear and highly effective opportunity for you to become a highly competent decision maker and problem solver.

Key objectives

At the end of the workshop the delegates will be able to:

  • identify the range of appropriate factors to determine both ‘option’ and choice’
  • differentiate and explain different approaches to decision making and problem solving
  • review and evaluate evidence against determined performance criteria
  • apply option evaluation to support ‘selection’ against an established benefit and solution mandate.
